Continuously improving its energy efficiency and considering energy-saving measures whenever they are economically, technically, and environmentally feasible, and safe.

Lohja Spa’s energy efficiency efforts cover the following areas: procurement, adoption of new technologies, transportation and storage, use of renewable energy sources, and staff training.

We are committed to reporting annually on our energy consumption (electricity, heating, fuels), the actions taken, and the energy savings achieved.

We thank our customers and staff for their cooperation in supporting our shared climate and environment!

Green Key

Green Key is an international certificate that promotes and supports sustainable tourism.
Lohja Spa & Resort has held the Green Key certificate since 2021, and it obligates us to continuously improve our environmental practices.

A Green Key-certified accommodation is committed to increasing environmental awareness among staff and guests, improving energy and water efficiency, and reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

Lohja Spa & Resort and the LeaseGreen Energy Efficiency Project

In 2018, Lohja Spa carried out an energy efficiency project that modernized the automation and control systems of its ventilation. Additionally, around 150 square meters of solar panels were installed, and the electricity they generate is used, among other things, to power ventilation fans. Over 200 light fixtures in public areas were replaced with energy-efficient LED lights.

Since 2018, we have significantly reduced our energy consumption compared to previous years.

As a result of the energy efficiency project, by 2025 our carbon dioxide emissions have decreased by 861,034 kgCO₂, and Lohja Spa & Resort’s carbon footprint has been reduced by 17 percent.

This equals:

6.1 million kilometers driven by a passenger car
The electricity production of 8,295 solar panels
7,095 round-trip flights to Stockholm
34,385 round-trip ferry journeys to Tallinn
The annual emissions of 195 detached houses
Lohja Spa continues to actively take steps to reduce its carbon footprint.
