Certifications and Commitments
Sustainability is an important part of our operations at Lohja Spa & Resort. We are committed to developing our business responsibly and to promoting sustainable tourism.

Lohja Spa & Resort has held the internationally recognised Green Key environmental certification since 2021. Green Key is a leading sustainability certification for the tourism industry, recognising businesses that actively work to reduce their environmental impact and promote sustainable practices.

Since 2025, Lohja Spa & Resort has also held the Sustainable Travel Finland label, demonstrating our long-term commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism.

Our Sustainability Plan
Sustainability is an integral part of our business and an important part of our values. Our sustainability plan is reviewed and updated at least every three years, while our sustainability goals and actions are developed continuously.

Our approach to sustainability covers three key areas:
Economic sustainability and social responsibility
Sociocultural sustainability
Environmental sustainability
We are committed to continuous improvement and to using our resources in ways that support environmental and social sustainability while ensuring the long-term viability of our business.

In all matters relating to the environment, health, safety and employment, we comply with applicable international, national and local legislation, agreements and regulations. We respect the rights, traditions and values of the local community and treat all people with equal respect. We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind.

We actively promote social sustainability in our local community and strive to create a positive experience for both our employees and guests.

Energy Efficiency
Using energy responsibly is an important part of our sustainability work. We are committed to continuously improving the efficiency of our energy use and considering energy efficiency whenever this is economically and technically feasible and compatible with safety and environmental requirements.

Our energy-efficiency work focuses on areas including:
procurement and responsible purchasing decisions
the introduction of new technologies transportation and storage increasing the use of renewable energy sources
staff training and awareness.
We also commit to monitoring and reporting annually on our energy consumption, including electricity, heating and fuels, as well as the measures we have implemented and the energy savings achieved.
